5. Precautions for Storage

5.1. Storage
When the product is not to be used for a long time, turn off power to the unit and the
computer, unplug the power cords, and cover the unit to protect it from dust.
[Storage condition]
(1) Temperature : 10ºC - 60ºC, no sudden changes
(2) Humidity : 80% RH or lower, non-condensing
5.2. Maintenance
(1) Components
Halogen lamps
(For how to replace, refer to 3.3 Installation and replacement of halogen lamp)
Fuses
(For how to replace, refer to 3.4 Installation and replacement of fuses)
Gas spring
(For how to replace, refer to 3.5 Replacement of the gas spring)
(2) Cleaning
(1) Body
Avoid using any organic solvent in the cleaning of any parts other than the lens.
Wipe off heavy dirt, if any, with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a diluted
neutral detergent.
(2) Lens
Use a commercial air blaster to blow dust off of the lens and then wipe it softly
with a sheet of lens cleaning tissue (or washed gauze). Wipe off any fingerprints
or oils with a sheet of lens cleaning tissue dampened with a little absolute alcohol.
When dust or a stain inside of the lens causes trouble with its measurement
performance, it is necessary to disassemble the lens and clean it. Please contact
the supplier where you purchased the unit or our sales department.
(3) BK7 reference sample
The unit measures the relative micro-spectrophotonic characteristics compared
with the BK7 reference sample. Wipe off any fingerprints or oil with a sheet of lens
cleaning tissue stained with a little absolute alcohol. We can provide you with our
document (for a fee) describing the calibration of BK7 reference sample, if
necessary. Please contact the supplier where you purchased the unit or our sales
department.

Absolute alcohol is highly flammable. When using it, always turn off
the power, and pay attention to the ventilation of the room.
