Chapter 15

The site database

The site database tool allows you to maintain site-related information in the
WireScope 350 database. Using this tool, you can add and configure a new site,
edit the characteristics of an existing site, or delete sites and all of the records
saved for that site.
From the database menu screen, press the Site button. The first site database
setup screen will appear.

Creating or editing sites

You can create or edit site information by selecting the corresponding choice
and pressing
or the Next button. The number after the site name is the
number of results saved for that site. When creating a new site, you must enter a
name for the site and select and specify the cable label format and characteristics
as detailed in Chapter 4 (Site Settings).
You cannot change the name of an existing site file. This restriction is
necessary to maintain the integrity of site databases.

Deleting sites

You can delete a site file from this screen by selecting the site and pressing the
Delete button.
Deleting a site file deletes all of the test results saved for that site. Once you
delete a site file, there is no way to recover any test results that had been
saved to that site file.
