CAUTION:
Installing WireScope 350 software from a CompactFlash™ card
Chapter 15
The WireScope 350 internal flash storage stores data in the same way that PCs
store data on hard disks. Saved files are broken into segments and stored in any
free portions available. Periodically, the WireScope 350 may need to de-
fragment the internal flash storage in order to reclaim unused space. The
following dialog box will appear when the WireScope 350 automatically de-
fragments the internal flash storage.
Depending on the amount of information stored, this process may require
several minutes.
Do not turn off the WireScope or remove the battery during de-
fragmenting. To do so will likely result in the permanent loss of stored
information.
You can install new software on your WireScope 350 from a CompactFlash™
card. This method is the fastest, most convenient way to upgrade software.
Please use the included ScopeData Pro application to copy WireScope 350
software components onto a CompactFlash™ card in order to prepare it for use
in upgrading one or more WireScope 350s.
Once you have copied the WireScope 350 software components onto the
CompactFlash™ card, insert the card into the first WireScope 350 that you wish
to upgrade.
The following screens will appear.
