Associated Voice
Each port on the PBXgateway II has two separate channels connecting each phone port with the PBX
(CH1 and CH2). All voice and signaling information is sent over the first B-channel (CH1) from the PBX
to the PBXgateway II.
Enabling B2 for Analog
The Mobile EXTender is capable of utilizing the second channel (CH2) to carry the "associated voice"
(analog signal) traffic for the call. A separate analog or trunk line is connected to the Meridian
PBX/DEFINITY ECS and this line is connected to the remote user via the PSTN. All voice traffic from the
remote user is carried through an analog phone through the PSTN and to the corporate PBX/ECS. The
PBX sends the associated voice information over the CH2 channel to the appropriate port on the
PBXgateway II.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Most PBX systems do not have the CH2 channel enabled to support an analog call.
To use the extended ports second B-channel it MUST be configured for analog voice.
