Compatible Remote Units

The PBXgateway II is compatible with many different types of remote units, with each unit having different
network and user requirements. Complete installation and configuration information is provided with each
remote unit in the form of a "Quick Installation Guide" (QIG) or "User's Guide". Please consult the
appropriate document for information not contained in this manual.

What is the EXTender 4000 for IP?

The EXTender 4000 provides remote voice access to a corporate PBX for a single remote user. Remote
users can connect to the PBXgateway via a 10/100BaseT Ethernet connection using IP packet
transmission. Remote users' phones will connect into the remote module via an RJ-45 phone jack, and
their phone traffic will be placed in IP packets and sent out to the LAN via a 10/100BaseT Ethernet
connection to the PBXgateway II.

What is the EXTender 3000 for ISDN?

The EXTender 3000 is a single user device that enables a remote user to have full access to the digital
telephone features and functions of the PBX. The EXTender 3000 enables a remote user to access a
PBX port via an ISDN BRI connection.
Note: The EXTender 3000 is supported on the DEFINITY and Meridian protocols only.

What is the Analog EXTender 1000 for PSTN?

The Analog EXTender 1000 is a single user device that enables a remote user to have full access to the
digital telephone features and functions of the PBX. The EXTender 1000 enables a remote user to
access a PBX port via a PSTN analog connection.
Note: The EXTender 1000 is supported on the DEFINITY protocol only.

What is the Mobile EXTender for Cellular and Analog Telephones?

The Mobile EXTender is a feature added to the PBXgateway II to support cellular and analog phones.
The Mobile EXTender enables remote users (Road Warriors) to access DEFINITY ECS and Meridian
PBX ports via a PSTN analog connection.
