Setting PPP Parameters (Ethernet Data)

The Point to Point Protocol (PPP) is the data protocol used across the ISDN connection between the two
units. The Set PPP Parameters menu allows you to set the Data on Demand operation, compression and
PPP authentication options. This menu allows you access to the following menus:
Set DOD Mode
Set DOD Timeout
Set Stac Compression**
Set Receive Auth
Set Receive User Name
Set Receive Password
Set Send Auth
Set Send User Name
Set Send Password
**The stac compression menu is only displayed if STAC daughter card is installed.
For your convenience it is recommended to configure Ethernet Parameters using the Terminal Configu-
ration Menu.
Please refer to the Data Communication – Ethernet section for further details on PPP configuration.

Entering User Names and Passwords from the Telephone

To enter User Names and Passwords from the telephone, you may need to enter both numeric and non-

more alphanumeric characters. When the character you want to enter is displayed, the Drop/Redial key
should be pressed. Press the Drop/Redial key two consecutive times after you have entered the complete
