    This manual was written with the assumption that you possess a working knowledge of digital telephones and PBX systems. Should you require further information on how the PBX or phones work, we suggest you either consult the system administrator, or read the user documentation provided with your PBX.

    Product Overview Introduction MCK’s EXTender 3000 provides remote workers and small branch offices seamless connectivity to the cor- porate LAN. Remote employees can: place and receive calls through the PBX/Key System; use four/three-digit internal dialing; transfer calls; set up conference calls; have a corporate-based receptionist screen calls; access the voice mail, auto-attendant or any other software residing on the PBX/Key System.

    Installing the Office Module Ensure that you have the EXTender 3000 Module (module is labeled ‘Switch Module’ on the cover) before proceeding. To configure and connect your EXTender 3000, see the figure below. Ensure that the maximum length of your cable between the PBX and the Office Module does not exceed 150 metres (500 feet).

    Administrator’s default password is 00000000 (eight zeros). Note: If more than one Office Module is connected to the PBX/Key System in a hunt group configuration, you should disable the remote users' capability of changing passwords by setting the third digit at “9”. The reason for this action is that if the user changes a password, the change is stored only in the Office Module to which the user is connected and not in all the Office Modules in the hunt group.
