Required PBXgateway II Parameters
Changes made in this section, via the MI, are saved to the "Active" config file stored on the EXTender
unit. All configuration files are saved with a .rem extension for Remote unit files, and a .swt extension for
PBXgateway II files. The MI will prompt you to save changes as necessary. There are options for saving
these parameters under a different file name, or creating and editing a "non-active" configuration file.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Initial MI Connection
The initial set up of the PBXgateway II MUST be done through a direct serial connection (see page
58), until the IP parameters have been entered (see page 89) allowing configuration via Telnet
through the Ethernet port.
Default Settings
The units are programmed at the factory with "default" settings providing basic parameters to
accommodate many network environments. It may be necessary to change these settings depending
on the network.
Set up Wizard
This is a setup program accessed through a direct-serial connection. The wizard prompts you to
enter required information necessary for configuring the PBXgateway II. (see page 116, for more
information)
Multiple Remotes (RVP_IP only)
The PBXgateway II can interface with multiple clients from one to twenty-four users. It is necessary
to know the type of Remote units that are communicating with the PBXgateway II for proper
configuration.
ConneX Parameters
The PBXgateway II supports the ConneX features. This application puts PBX features and dialtone in
the hands of users of remote telephones.
Note: The PBXgateway II has optional configuration parameters that provide enhanced networking
capabilities including: IP Bridging, DTMF decoding, 2:1 Configuration, Simultaneous RVP &
RVP_IP connections and associated voice. (see page 102 for more information on these items)
