EXTender 1000 Setup
In the Miscellaneous menu on the EXTender 1000 unit, you need to enter
the User ID that corresponds to any port in the Port list. When
connecting to the PBXgateway II, the EXTender 1000 will use any port
that is not busy.
5. Use the ↓ key to move to the CH2 Data Mode parameter. If you are using the EXTender 1000, set
the value of this parameter to Modem. If you are using the EXTender 3000, select ISDN-64K or
ISDN-56K.
6. Use the ↑ key to move to the Voice parameter.
7. Press Enter or the → key to access the Voice menu
MI Path:
Configuration->Port->Ports X-(X+7)->Port_X->Voice
8. Press the → key to access the Method parameter and press the → key to scroll through the various
compression methods available.
9. Press the ↓ key to the Path parameter and set accordingly. The voice path (Dynamic or Constant)
that relates to the bandwidth used
10. Press the ↓ key to the Companding parameter and set accordingly.
11. Press the ↓ key to the DTMF parameter and set accordingly.
12. Press the ↓ key to the Tx Attenuation parameter to limit the amount of echo you may hear during a
call. Tx and Rx can be adjusted separately as echo may not be present both ways.
13. Press the ↓ key to the Rx Attenuation parameter to limit the amount of echo you may hear during a
call. Tx and Rx can be adjusted separately as echo may not be present both ways.
14. Press the ↓ key to the Silence Detection parameter. Setting this to enable will prevent voice packets
from being sent during times when there is no voice traffic, increasing the amount of available
bandwidth.
15. Press the ↓ key to the Jitter Delay parameter and set to 20 or greater if using RVP_Direct on Frame
Relay or RVP_IP. Otherwise leave at 0.
16. Press the ↓ key to the Packet size parameter and set to 2. Note: May need to increase to 4 if using
Frame Relay or RVP_IP
17. Press the ← key to accept changes and go back to the Configuration Menu.
18. Press the ↓ key to the Save parameter.
19. Press Enter to save changes to the active config (.swt) file.
