Synchronous Serial/RVP_Direct
•
Check that the sync rate of the network device matches the sync rate setting for both the
PBXgateway II and EXTender 6000 unit. (see page 85 for setting the Sync Rate)
•
Make sure the synch mode of the PBXgateway II and EXTender 6000 units match the network device
signaling type (V.35, RS-530, RS-232).(see page 85 for setting the Synch Mode )
IP/RVP_IP
Check that the IP address information (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Router) for the PBXgateway II,
EXTender 6000 unit, and EXTender 4000 is set correctly. (see page 89 for setting IP Parameters)

PBXgateway II Unit Checklist

•
Verify that the unit is plugged into an active AC outlet.
•
Verify that the RJ-21 cable between the unit and the PBX or punch-down block is secure.
•
Verify that the DB25 cables are secure between the units and network devices. (Synchronous-serial
connection only)
•
Verify that the Ethernet cable is connected and there is an active link status on the PBXgateway II
and Network Hub. (RVP_IP connection only)

Branch Office EXTender 6000 Unit Checklist

•
Verify that the unit is plugged into an active AC outlet.
•
Check the digital phones for any error messages.
•
Verify that the RJ-21 cable between the EXTender 6000 and the break-out box or punch-down block
is secure.
•
Verify that the DB25 cables are secure between the unit and network devices. (RVP_Direct
connection only)
•
Verify that the Ethernet cable is connected and there is an active link status on the Branch and
Network Hub. (RVP_IP connection only)

EXTender 4000 Unit Checklist

•
Verify that the power supply is plugged into an active AC outlet and the power cable is plugged into
the unit.
•
Verify that the Ethernet cable is connected and there is an active link status on the EXTender 4000
and Network Hub.
•
Check the digital phone for error messages.

EXTender 3000 Unit Checklist

•
Refer to the troubleshooting section in the EXTender 3000 Remote Module User's Guide.

EXTender 1000 Unit Checklist

•
Refer to the troubleshooting section in the Analog EXTender 1000u Remote Module User's Guide
(part of the Analog EXTender 1000u Owner's Manual).
•
Test the Modem Card to verify functionality.
