1-6. Replacing the Home Position Sensor

1-6-1. Y-Axis

The Y-axis home position sensor is an important device that determines the squareness
between the X-axis and Y-axis. If the position of the Y-axis home position sensor is not
adjusted correctly after it has been replaced, the squareness between the X-axis and
Y-axis may deviate, causing the mounting accuracy to lower.
(1) After the power has been turned ON,
put the machine in a status, that the
belt joint of the Y-axis is removed,
before starting the home position
return. Press the emergency stop
button and replace the sensor with a
new one. After that, move the X-axis
toward you to check that the gap
between the Y-axis home position
sensor and the magnetic switch is
0.8 to 1.5 mm. If this is not satisfied,
loosen the sensor fixing screw and
vertically move the sensor to adjust
the distance between 0.8 mm and
1.5 mm (target: 1.0 mm).
(2) Manually move the head from the
far side to the front side. Stop the hea
replaced is turned ON. Move the replaced Y-axis home position sensor from the front side to
the far side and fix it temporarily at a position where the sensor is turned ON.
(3) Mount the belt joint and reset the emergency stop button to perform the home position return.
(4) Check the accuracy of the squareness using the [Adjust Squareness] menu of the MS
parameters.

(5) Follow the instructions about adjustment amount of the magnetic switch to adjust the position of
the Y-axis home position sensor.
(6) Restart the home position return to perform the step 4). At this time, check that the adjustment
amount of the magnetic switch is ±0.08 mm or less.
