NT7R51 Local Carrier Interface Card

Use this procedure to replace a Local Carrier Interface card.
See the X11 Administration (553-3001-311) for a description of all
maintenance commands, and the X11 System Messages Guide
(553-3001-411) for interpreting system messages.
Module covers are not hinged; do not let go of the cover. Lift the cover
away from the module and set it out of your work area.
Removing and replacing a Local Carrier Interface card

Disable the Local Carrier Interface card by logging in to the system
terminal, loading the Network and Peripheral Equipment Diagnostic
Program LD 32, and executing DISL loop, where
number of the Local Carrier Interface card.

Set the ENL/DIS switch to DIS.

Disconnect the cable from the Local Carrier Interface card faceplate.

Unlatch the card locking devices by squeezing the tabs and pulling the
locking devices away from the card.

Pull the card out of the network module and place it into an antistatic bag
away from the work area.

Set the replacement card ENL/DIS switch to DIS.
7
Hold the replacement card by the card locking devices and insert it
partially into the card guides in the module.
8
Pull the upper and lower locking devices away from the faceplate on the
card and insert the card firmly into the backplane connector. Press the
card locking devices firmly against the faceplate to latch the card inside
the module.
