The option number for the M2000 Series Meridian Digital Telephones is 170. The mnemonic is ARIE. The DSET package (88) and the TSET package (89) are required.

    Options The options functions control user-specific i2004 Internet Telephone operating parameters. If the Meridian 1 initializes, the ITG Line 2.0 card fails or the i2004 Internet Telephone goes through a power-up cycle, the options settings are lost and the i2004 reverts to the default values.

    Page 80 of 104 i2004 Internet Telephone Housing The housing of the i2004 Internet Telephone housing consists of a molded plastic footstand and the faceplate. The bottom of the housing provides manufacturing part number and model number information, a power supply connection, an RJ45 Ethernet port, a handset jack and a headset jack.

    The four soft keys are dual-purpose keys. In idle or call-in-progress mode, these keys function similar to the soft-labeled programmable feature keys. Key functionality is defined by the Meridian 1 using the Key Map Download X11 message. Each key can be assigned with any features defined in Appendix B.

    When in the muted state the LED adjacent to the Mute button is lit. When in the muted state all audio input, handset, headset, handsfree, is muted. Firmware features The Meridian 1 downloads the set firmware to the i2004. Table 2 lists the data features supported by the i2004 firmware. Software requirements The i2004 Internet Telephone is available on X11 release 25 and later software.

    Specifications This section lists the i2004 Internet Telephone specifications. Power and regulatory specifications The i2004 Internet Telephone must use only the Nortel Networks recommended, approved Limited Power Source, output rated: 16 Vac, 500 mA, 50/60 Hz. The i2004 Internet Telephone is a Class A device that meets FCC Part 15 and Canadian ICES-003 specifications.

Functional description The Meridian Communications Unit (MCU) allows you to transmit and receive data using PSDS over either the public network or a private network.
