VEHICLE THEFT/SECURITY
Symptom:
*OPEN LIFTGATE FAILS TO TRIP ALARM
LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH OPEN
GROUND OPEN
LTGATE AJAR SWITCH SENSE WIRE OPEN
RKE MODULE - OPEN LIFTGATE AJAR
TEST
1 Open the Liftgate.
Disconnect the Liftgate Ajar Switch connector.
Connect a jumper wire between the Liftgatel Ajar Switch Sense circuit and ground.
With the DRBIII select: Body Electro/Mech Cluster Input/Output
Read the Liftgate Ajar Sw state.
Does the DRBIII show: Closed ?
Yes → Replace the Liftgate Ajar Switch.
No
2 Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the Liftgate Ajar Switch connector.
Turn all lights off.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Ground circuit..
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 3
No
3 Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the Liftgate Ajar Switch connector.
Disconnect the RKE Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Liftgate Ajar Switch Sense circuit from the Liftgate
Ajar Switch connector to the RKE connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
No
4 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
→ Go To 2
→ Repair the open Ground wire.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
→ Repair the open Liftgate Ajar Switch Sense wire.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Replace the Remote Keyless Entry Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
