Symptom:
CLUSTER FAULT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
CLUSTER FAULT
When Monitored: Ignition on, every time a message is sent from the instrument cluster.
Set Condition: This DTC will be set when the message from the instrument cluster, via
PCI Bus, informs the CAB that it can not turn on the ABS Warning Indicator or the Red
Brake Warning Indicator.
INTERMITTENT DTC
CLUSTER FAULT DTC CONDITION PRESENT
TEST

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , try to communicate with the Mechanical Instrument Cluster
(MIC), not the CAB module.
Does the DRBIII display Bus +/- Signal Open?
Yes → Refer to symptom *BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN FROM INSTRU-
→ Go To 2
No

Turn the ignition off.
Visually inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or
partially broken wires.
Visually inspect the related wire harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed
out, or corroded terminals.
Refer to any Hotline letters or Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes → Repair as necessary.
→ Test Complete.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
