Symptom:
PCI BUS COMMUNICATION
When Monitored and Set Condition:
PCI BUS COMMUNICATION
When Monitored: Ignition on, every 7 milliseconds (ms).
Set Condition: This DTC will be set when the CAB does not recieve a message from the
instrument cluster for 10 seconds.
INTERMITTENT DTC
PCI BUS OPEN TO CAB
CAB - PCI CIRCUIT OPEN
TEST
1 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , erase DTC's.
Turn ignition off.
Turn the ignition on.
Wait 20 seconds.
Is the PCI Bus Communication DTC present?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Go To 6
No
2 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , read Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) Diagnostic Trouble
Codes (DTC's).
Does the MIC have the ABS Message Not Received by MIC DTC set?
Yes → Refer to symptom ABS MESSAGES NOT RECEIVED BY MIC in
→ Go To 3
No
3 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the CAB connector.
Note: Check connector - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance of the PCI Bus Circuit between the CAB connector and the
Data Link Connector (DLC) .
Is the resistance below 5 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the PCI Bus Circuit Open.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
the INSTRUMENT CLUSTER category.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
