BRAKES (CAB)
LEFT FRONT SENSOR CIRCUIT FAILURE —
TEST

Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor connector.
Note: Check connector - Clean/repair as necessary.
Turn ignition on.
Measure the voltage across the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor 12 Volt Supply circuit
and the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal circuit in the Left Front Wheel Speed
Sensor connector.
Is the voltage above 10 volts?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Go To 7
No

Turn ignition off.
Inspect the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor and Connector.
Is the Sensor or Connector Damaged?
Yes → Repair as necessary.
→ Go To 4
No

Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Connector.
Note: Check connector - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance between both of the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor
Terminals and ground.
Is the resistance below 15,000 ohms?
Yes → Replace the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor.
→ Go To 5
No

Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the CAB Connector.
Note: Check connector - Clean/repair as necessary.
Remove harness strain relief to access wires in CAB connector for backprobing.
Using a voltmeter in Direct Current (DC) mode, and special tool 6801, backprobe the
Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal circuit at CAB.
Reconnect the CAB connector.
Turn ignition on.
Slowly rotate the wheel while observing voltmeter reading.
Does the voltage change from approximately 1.6 volts to 0.8 volts as the wheel is
rotated?
Yes → Go To 6
→ Replace the Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor.
No

If there are no potential causes remaining, replace the CAB.

Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Replace the CAB.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
