VERIFICATION TESTS
Verification Tests —
1. Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
2. Obtain the vehicle's unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to it's original
SKIM. This number can be obtained from the vehicle's invoice or Chrysler's Customer Center
(1-800-992-1997).
3. NOTE: When entering PIN, care should be taken because 3 attempts will only be allowed.
The SKIM module will then lock out the DRB III for 1 hour, which will cause the DRB III to
display Bus +\- Signals Open' to SKIM.
4. To exit lock out mode, the ignition key needs to remain in the On position continually for
one hour. Turn off all accessories and connect a battery charger, if necessary.
5. With the DRB III, select Theft Alarm,
procedure and follow the steps displayed.
6. If the SKIM was replaced, ensure all of the vehicles keys are programmed into the new
SKIM.
7. Note: Prior to returning vehicle to the customer, perform a module scan to be sure
all DTC's are erased. Erase ANY DTC's that are found.
1. Ensure all doors, hood and liftgate are closed.
2. Open the driver's door.
3. Remove the ignition key (but keep in hand).
4. Lock the doors with RKE transmitter.
5. Close the driver's door.
6. - If the VTSS indicator lamp flashes, the system is operational.
7. - If the indicator fails to flash, there is a problem with the system. Refer to symptom list for
problems related to VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM.
