VEHICLE THEFT/SECURITY
Symptom:
*VTSS SIREN INOPERATIVE
SIREN TEST
FUSED B(+) OPEN
GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
SIREN CONTROL WIRE OPEN
SIREN CONTROL WIRE SHORT TO GROUND
SIREN OPEN
RKE MODULE - OPEN CONTROL CIRCUIT
TEST

Ensure the IOD fuse is installed and the vehicle is in Customer Usage Mode.
Using the DRBIII, read the module configuration and ensure it is configured for
PREMIUM VTA.
With the DRBIII , actuate the SIREN.
Does the Siren actuate and sound proper?
Yes → Check for intermittent wiring problem and retest system. If siren
→ Go To 2
No

Disconnect the Siren connector.
Measure the voltage of the Fused B(+) circuit in the Siren connector.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Repair the open Fused B(+) ckt from the fuse.
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Siren connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Ground circuit in the Siren
connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the open Ground circuit.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
sounds when actuated, the RKE module is probably all right.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
