Symptom:
*DRIVER DOOR FAILS TO LOCK & UNLOCK
OPEN LOCK MOTOR CIRCUIT - RKE MODULE
OPEN DRIVER DOOR LOCK MOTOR
OPEN DRIVER DOOR LOCK DRIVER WIRE
DRIVER DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER WIRE OPEN
TEST
1 Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry module connector.
Lower the driver door window.
Connect a jumper wire between the Driver Door Lock Driver ckt and the Ground ckt
in the RKE module connector.
Connect a jumper wire to the Driver Door Unlock Driver ckt and momentarily touch
it to the Fused B(+) ckt and observe the door lock.
Reverse the jumper wires to drive the motor in the opposite direction.
Did the drivers door Lock and Unlock?
Yes → Replace the Remote Keyless Entry Module.
→ Go To 2
No
2 Remove the inner door trim panel to gain access to the Door Lock Motor connector.
Disconnect the Door Lock Motor connector.
Connect a test light between the Driver Door Lock Driver and the Driver Door Unlock
Driver circuits in the door lock motor connector.
Press the door lock switch to the Lock and Unlock positions.
Did the test light illuminate when the lock switch was pressed in both directions?
Yes → Replace the Driver Door Lock Motor.
→ Go To 3
No
3 Remove the inner door trim panel to gain access to the Door Lock Motor connector.
Disconnect the Door Lock Motor connector.
Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Driver Door Lock Driver wire between the RKE
connector and the door lock motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the open Driver Door Lock Driver Wire.
No
