VEHICLE THEFT/SECURITY
*OPEN PASSENGER DOOR FAILS TO TRIP ALARM —
TEST
3 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
4 Open the Left Rear Door.
Disconnect the door ajar switch connector.
Close all the other passenger doors.
Connect a jumper wire from the Passenger Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit to ground.
With the DRB III select: VEHICLE THEFT - VTSS - INPUT/OUTPUT.
Read the PASS DOOR AJAR SW state.
Does the DRB show: CLOSED?
Yes → Replace the Left Rear Door Ajar Switch.
→ Go To 5
No
5 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
6 Open the Right Rear Door.
Disconnect the door ajar switch connector.
Close all the other passenger doors.
Connect a jumper wire from the Passenger Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit to ground.
With the DRB III select: VEHICLE THEFT - VTSS - INPUT/OUTPUT.
Read the PASS DOOR AJAR SW state.
Does the DRB show: CLOSED?
Yes → Replace the Right Rear Door Ajar Switch.
→ Go To 7
No
7 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
8 Turn ignition off.
Disconnect the passenger door ajar switch connector.
Disconnect the RKE Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Passenger Door Ajar/RKE Sense circuit between the
door ajar switch connector and the RKE module connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 9
→ Repair the open Passenger Door Ajar/RKE Sense wire.
No
9 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
ACTION
Repair the open Passenger Door Ajar Switch Sense wire to splice.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Repair the open Left Rear Door Ajar Switch Sense wire to splice.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Repair the open Right Rear Door Ajar Switch Sense wire to splice.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Replace the Remote Keyless Entry Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
