BRAKES (CAB)
PUMP MOTOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY —
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Remove and Inspect the ABS Pump Fuse in the Power Distribution Center.
Is the Fuse blown?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Go To 8
No

Turn the ignition off.
Visually inspect the Fused B(+) Circuit in the wiring harness from the Power
Distribution Center (PDC) to the CAB. Look for any sign of an Intermittent Short to
Ground.
Is the wiring harness OK?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Repair the Fused B(+) Circuit shorted to ground.
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the ABS Pump Fuse from the PDC.
Disconnect the CAB connector.
Check connector - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using a test light connected to 12 volts, probe the Fused B(+) Circuit.
Is the test light on?
Yes → Repair the Fused B(+) Circuit Shorted to Ground.
→ Go To 6
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Fuse #8 from the PDC.
Using a test light connected to 12 volts, probe the Fused B(+) circuit.
Monitor the test light.
Is the test light on?
Yes → Replace the CAB.
→ Go To 7
No

Turn the ignition off.
If there are no potential causes remaining, replace the fuse.

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , actuate the pump motor.
Measure the voltage drop across the ABS ground circuit connection, with the pump
motor running.
Is the voltage below 0.1 volt?
Yes → Go To 9
→ Repair the poor ground circuit.
No
ACTION
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Replace the ABS Pump Motor Fuse.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
