Symptom:
*ALL DOORS (EXC DRIVER) FAIL TO LOCK & UNLOCK
OPEN PASSENGER LOCK MOTOR CIRCUIT - RKE MODULE
DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER SHORT TO DOOR LOCK DRIVER
DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER WIRE OPEN
DOOR LOCK DRIVER WIRE OPEN
OPEN MOTORS
TEST
1
Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry module connector.
Lower the passenger door window.
Connect a jumper wire between the Door Lock Driver ckt and the Ground ckt in the
RKE module connector.
Connect a jumper wire to the Door Unlock Driver ckt and momentarily touch it to the
Fused B(+) ckt and observe the passenger door locks.
Reverse the jumper wires to drive the motors in the opposite direction.
Did the passenger doors Lock and Unlock?
Yes → Replace the Remote Keyless Entry Module.
No

Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry module connector.
Measure the resistance between the Door Unlock Driver circuit and the Door Lock
Driver circuit in the RKE module connector..
Is the resistance below 1.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Door Unlock Driver circuit for a short to the Door Lock
No

Turn ignition off.
Remove the passenger inner door trim panel to gain access to the Door Lock Motor
connector.
Disconnect the Passenger Door Lock Motor connector.
Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Door Unlock Driver wire between the RKE module
connector and the door lock motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
→ Go To 2
Driver circuit (possibly a motor).
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
→ Go To 3
→ Repair the open Door Unlock Driver wire.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
