VEHICLE THEFT/SECURITY
Symptom:
*INTRUSION SENSOR FAILS TO TRIP VTSS
FUSED B(+) OPEN
INTRUSION SENSOR CHECK
GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
INTRUSION SENSOR OPEN
INTRUSION SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
INTRUSION SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
RKE MODULE - INTRUSION SENSE OPEN
TEST

Ensure the IOD fuse is installed and the vehicle is in Customer Usage Mode.
Using the DRBIII, read the module configuration and ensure it is configured for
PREMIUM VTA.
With the DRBIII select: THEFT ALARM, VTSS, SYSTEM TEST and INTRUSION
SENSOR TEST.
While waving your hand around the Intrusion Sensor, read the DRBIII.
Does the DRBIII display INTRUSION DETECTED?
Yes → Verify system has not been armed with intrusion sensors disabled
→ Go To 2
No

If the dome lamp works properly it is not necessary to complete this test as the same
Fused B(+) circuit feeds the lamp. Press the CANCEL and then the OK buttons..
Disconnect the Intrusion Sensor connector.
Measure the voltage between the Fused B(+) circuit and ground.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Repair the open Fused B(+) circuit from the IOD fuse.
No

Disconnect the Intrusion Sensor connector.
Turn the ignition and all lights off.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the open ground circuit.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
(via 3 lock requests with RKE or cylinder lock switches). Replace
sensor if problem remains intermittent.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
