*VTSS SIREN INOPERATIVE —
TEST
4 Use the DRBIII and set up as follows:
Use Scope input cable CH7058, Cable to Probe adapter CH7062, and the red and
black test probes.
Connect the scope input cable to the channel one connector on the DRB. Attach the
red and black leads and the cable to probe adapter to the scope input cable.
Select DRB Standalone.
Select lab scope.
Select Live.
Select 12 volt square wave.
Press F2 for Scope.
Press F2 and use the down arrow to set voltage range to 20 volts. Press F2 again
when complete.
Disconnect the Siren connector.
Connect the Black lead to the chassis ground. Connect the Red lead to the Siren
Control circuits (Cavities 1 & 2) in the Siren connector.
Observe the the voltage displayed on the DRB Lab Scope..
Is there a voltage square wave present in each cavity every 1 or 2 seconds?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Go To 6
No
5 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
6 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Siren connector.
Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Siren Control circuit between the Siren connector
(cavities 1 & 2) and the RKE Module connector (cavity 15).
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms between all cavities?
Yes → Go To 7
→ Repair the open Siren Control wire between the Siren and the

7 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Siren connector.
Disconnect the Remote Keyless Entry Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the Siren Control circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Siren Control wire for a short to ground.
→ Go To 8
No
8 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.

Replace the Siren.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
RKE Module connectors.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Replace the Remote Keyless Entry Module.
Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
