ATTENTION
Power supply through the controller
The readers (up to three readers per controller) are connected to the
controller at the designated points. This type of wiring is the simplest type
of connection between readers and controllers. The controller loops the
power supply through to the connections for the readers, which can then be
operated without an additional power supply unit.
Malfunctions due to voltage drop
A voltage drop occurs in the lines between the controller and reader. If the
voltage drop is too great, the voltage on the reader is no longer sufficient
for reliable operation.
1. Observe the cable length specifications (see Properties [} 121]).
2. Use an external power supply unit to power readers in cases of doubt
(see External power supply [} 57]).
Use this configuration to verify that the components which they contain
function correctly.
