To use a Bluetooth remote, begin by putting the remote into "pairing mode". If the remote is set
to pairing mode before you enter the Bluetooth menu, the remote will be displayed on the
screen. If the remote is not displayed, put it in pairing mode and then press Scan (this may take
a few scan attempts to find the remote). If the device is detected, press the Pair Device button
on the DVL. Once paired, it will be displayed on the screen, as show in Figure 5-7. To connect
to a paired device, press Connect., Press Disconnect to disconnect from a connected
Bluetooth device, and press Forget Device to unpair from a paired device.

Press Test to confirm Bluetooth device functionality. A screen (Figure 5-8) will ask you to press
a button on the remote to test that it is properly connected.

Be aware that Bluetooth remotes requiring special apps will not work. As well, you cannot pair
your Smart Phone to the DVL.
