My Yaskawa A1000 drive is makes my 3-phase motor continuously pulsate? Motor is attached to a ZUN table cutting.

1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
March 20, 2025

A Yaskawa A1000 drive causing a 3-phase motor to pulsate continuously when connected to a ZUN table cutting could be due to several factors:

1. Output Current Imbalance (LF2 Fault) – If one or more motor phases experience a current imbalance, the motor may not run smoothly. Check for:
- Faulty wiring or poor connections on the output side.
- Loose terminal wires; ensure they are tightened to the specified torque.

2. Auto-Tuning Not Performed – The drive may not have the correct motor parameters. Perform auto-tuning to set proper motor characteristics.

3. Incorrect Motor Control Mode – If using a Permanent Magnet (PM) motor, ensure the correct control mode is selected. Note that PM motor control is not available for 600V class drives.

4. Drive Overload Due to Repetitive Starting/Stopping – If the table cutting application involves frequent starts and stops, the drive might be experiencing excessive heat stress. Try:
- Lowering the carrier frequency.
- Reducing load or increasing acceleration/deceleration times.
- Using a larger drive if peak current exceeds 150% of the rated value.

Check these factors and make necessary adjustments to improve motor operation.

Enter Command Settings when Upgrading the Drive When replacing earlier Yaskawa drive models with the A1000 and keeping the MEMOBUS/Modbus communications settings, set parameter H5-11 in accordance with the Enter command configuration in the older drive. H5-11 determines whether an Enter command is necessary to activate parameter changes in the drive.
