Please note:
PCS 582G and PCS 582GX phones do not support SSL.
Port Forwarding - If you are planning on assigning an Internet address to the SSL Gateway machine
you must ensure that your router has the relevant port forwarding enabled on it. The port that needs
forwarding will be the port that is configured in the SSL config files - the default is port 5000.
Log Files - The SSL Gateway Application will store logs in the /SpliceCom/logs directory on both Linux
and MAC OS X platforms. The log will only be generated once a connection is made to the SSL
Gateway app.
The SSL Gateway marks Type of Service (ToS) packets as Expedited, allowing time sensitive voice
packets to take priority across WiFi newtorks. This enhancement was developed in conjunction with
Meru when using iPCS in WiFi mode across their wireless networks. However, this feature will also be
of benefit in other wireless environments that recognise and support ToS.
SSL devices support First and Last Name directory searches (please refer to the Configuring a User
section from page 95 and the Creating a Contact section from page 161 for further details).
