Reboot the PCS 58x at a convenient time and the phone will be upgraded.
Upgrading the Software on the PCS 57x, PCS 56x, PCS 55x and PCS 542
The version of software being used by the handset can be viewed by:
PCS 57x/56x/55x - selecting the Favourites
PCS 542 – selecting the Settings
press Accept
.
Before starting the upgrade, the software patch pcs5xx.tar.gz (570/560) or pcs5x1.tar.gz (572/562/55x) or
pcs54x.tar.gz (542) must be sent to the Call Server as described from page 286.
Upgrading locally

On the PCS 57x,56x, 55x or 542 lift the handset.

Press the Speaker button while rebooting the unit.

The boot menu will be displayed
Press:
3 CONFIG
6 CANCEL
9 BOTH
# S/WARE

Press hash (#) for S/WARE.

The unit will be upgraded and the reboot will complete
Please note that this method relies on the TFTP Server address of the phone being set to the Call Server
providing the upgrade software. Please refer to the Using Setnet section from page 299 on details how
to view and amend this entry.
Upgrading remotely via Telnet
You will need to know the IP address of the PCS 57x, PCS 56x, PCS 55x or PCS 542 which is displayed on
the handset within the Phone Information which can be accessed by:
PCS 57x/56x/55x - selecting the Favourites
PCS 542 – selecting the Settings
press Accept

Alternatively, a list of the IP addresses for each PCS 57x, PCS 56x, 55x or 542 can be viewed in Manager
Assist by selecting System Utilities and then IP Addresses.
You will also need to know the phone's Password which is configured in Manager within the relevant IP
Phones' configuration form. By default this is set to 7388.
The PCS 57x or PCS 56x can be upgraded as follows:

Within the Command Prompt on a PC connected to the system enter
telnet <ip address of PCS 57x/56x/55x/542>

When prompted for the Login name enter diag
