Access a backup file
Back up files are stored on the Call Server within the /ftp directory. These files can be accessed via one of
the following methods:
Manage Backups

Within Manager Assist, select System Utilities and then Manage Backups

Find the backup you wish to access and select Download beside this entry.

You can then save the file to a location of your choice.
Using a browser or the Command Prompt

Using FTP via a browser or Command Prompt log in as Admin on the relevant Call Server as
described in the Admin Access to a Call Server section from page 273.

If you are using a browser the backup text file created is displayed giving
the date and time that the backup was made. This can be copied or
moved to any location as required.

If you are using the Command Prompt use the "get" command to download the required file, eg
get Backup 15.01.03 092508.txt, and place it in the root, eg C:\. The Transmission Complete
message will be received when the transfer is complete. Enter Quit when finished.
Restore the system from a backup file
Send a backup file to a Call Server

Using FTP via a browser or Command Prompt log in as Admin on the relevant Call Server as
described in the Admin Access to a Call Server section from page 273.

If you are using a browser place the backup file into this area
or
If you are using the Command Prompt use the "put" command, eg put backup 031214.txt, to copy
the backup file from the root, eg C:\, to this area. Once copied the Transmission Complete
message will be received.
Restore the system

Rename the backup file to be used to newdatabase.txt.

Perform an orderly shut down of the Call Server by pressing the Reset Switch once. The SpliceCom
LED will slowly flash when the shut down is complete

Press the Reset Switch once to restart the Call Server and the newdatabase.txt file will be copied
into the database.

If the file has been accepted and the database updated the newdatabase.txt file will be
automatically deleted from the ftp directory.

Within Manager Assist, select System Utilities and then Manage Backups

Find the file required from the list displayed. (Please note that any file you have placed in the /ftp
directory must contain "backup" and ".txt" in the file name in order to be displayed here.)

Click on Restore beside this entry.

You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to restore this file.

Select OK and the file will be copied and called newdatabase.txt. Confirmation of this will be
displayed within the Manage Backups screen, above the files list.
