6. Plug the instrument into an outlet of the appropriate voltage and
frequency.
WARNING The Model 42i Trace Level is supplied with a three-wire
grounding cord. Under no circumstances should this grounding system be
defeated.
Several components are available for connecting external devices to iSeries
instruments.
These connection options include:
Individual terminal board PCB assemblies
Terminal block and cable kits (optional)
Individual cables (optional)
For detailed information on the optional connection components, refer to
the
"Optional
Equipment" chapter. For associated part numbers, refer to
"External Device Connection
The following terminal board PCB assemblies are available for iSeries
instruments:
I/O terminal board PCB assembly, 37 pin (standard)
D/O terminal board PCB assembly, 37 pin (standard)
25-pin terminal board PCB assembly, (included with optional I/O
Expansion Board)
Figure 2–5
shows the recommended method for attaching the cable to the
terminal board using the included tie-down and spacer.

Note All of the I/O available in the instrument are not brought out on this
terminal board, if more I/O is desired, an alternative means of connection
is required.
