SOLUTIONS:
Production Counter Measures:
1. To increase the heat handling characteristics, the material of the Flange-Side Plate has been changed
from plastic to aluminum. The change in material will prevent damage or deformation of the V-ring.
2. The surface of the retainer in the Paddle Roller (See Figure 1) has been Teflon coated to reduce the
friction against the Rubber Shield Ring when the temperature of the ring increases.
3. The Sponge Seal has been increased from 8x8x1 mm to 8x8x2 mm (See Figure 1).
Field Counter Measure:
Due to the difficulties of replacing these part in the field it is recommenced to replace the entire Development
Unit.
NOTE: Refer to the Service Manual (page 6-26) when replacing the Developer. If the Developer
Replacement Procedure is not followed, Damage to the Development Unit may occur.
