SUBJECT: TRANSFER BELT UNIT
GENERAL:
In response to the following symptom, one strip of mylar has been modified and two strips have been added
as shown on the next page.
SYMPTOM:
The rear side of the copy is dirty.
NOTE: This has a particular tendency to occur when using paper with a large amount of paper dust.
CAUSE:
When paper dust accumulates on the transfer unit-cleaning blade, the blade can not effectively clean the
toner off the transfer belt. As a result, the toner remaining on the belt is transferred to the rear side of the
paper.
SOLUTION:
1. One strip of mylar (B0043911) has been added to scrape off the extra toner stuck to the transfer belt
surface.
2. With the addition of the B0043911 mylar, the shape of the entrance mylar has been modified and its part
number has been changed from A2323904 to B0043915.
3. One strip of mylar (B0043914) has been added to scrape off any toner stuck to the drive roller surface.
   
