SUBJECT: ADF and FINISHER CONNECTORS
SYMPTOM:
During production inspections at the factory, it was discovered that the grounding pins of some ADF and
Finisher Connectors were pushed in. All machines in stock at the factory were checked and the connectors
replaced. However, it is possible that some machines released from the factory may contain these faulty
connectors.
CAUSE:
During the production process, specialized connectors are used to connect the ADF and Finisher Harnesses
to the mainframe. It was confirmed that these connectors were slightly deformed, causing the grounding
pins to be pushed in. If the connector is repeatedly inserted and pulled out, the pin will be pushed further
inside and start to come out at the other end (0.5 to 8mm). However, this does not result in any abnormal
machine operation.
Through vibration tests, it was confirmed that the pin does not separate from the ADF or Finisher
Connectors. The probability is extremely low but it is possible that the pin could separate from the
connector, fall onto the Lamp Stabilizer and cause a short circuit. We have confirmed that even if this were
to happen, there would be no damage to any components or the Lamp Stabilizer circuits. The Exposure
Lamp would remain ON and/or an SC101 would occur.
SOLUTION:
At installation, please check the grounding pins of both connectors. If the pins are pushed-in or misaligned,
please return them to the proper position.

NOTE: Lamp Stabilizer circuit malfunctions do not occur because there is a ground line connected to the
signal line [C]. We have also confirmed that even if the grounding pin is not properly connected,
there are no machine malfunctions or abnormal operations caused by static electricity.
