Recirculation Control Motor Test
1. Disconnect the I P connector f r o m the recirculation
c o n t r o l motor.
[NOTICE I
Incorrectly applying power and ground to
the recirculation control m o t o r w i l l damage it.
F o l l o w the instructions carefully.
2. Connect battery power to the No. 1 t e r m i n a l , and
g r o u n d the No. 5 and No. 7 terminals; the
recirculation control motor should run smoothly.
T o avoid d a m a g i n g the recirculation control motor,
d o not reverse power and g r o u n d . Disconnect the
No. 5 or No. 7 terminals f r o m g r o u n d ; the
recirculation control motor should stop at Fresh or
Recirculate. Don't cycle the recirculation control
m o t o r for a long t i m e .

Recirculation Control Motor
Replacement
1. Remove the glove box (see page 20-87).
2. Disconnect the 7P connector (A) f r o m the
recirculation control motor (B). Remove the self-
tapping screws and the recirculation control motor
f r o m the blower unit.
3. Install the motor in the reverse order of removal.
After installation, make sure the motor runs
smoothly.
3. If the recirculation control m o t o r does not run in
step 2, remove it, then check the recirculation
control linkage and doors for s m o o t h m o v e m e n t
* If the linkage and doors m o v e smoothly, replace
the recirculation control motor.
* If the linkage or doors sticks or binds, repair t h e m
as needed.
