12. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
13. Disconnect t h e dashboard w i r e harness connector
I (18P) f r o m the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
14. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
15. Check for voltage between the No. 3 terminal of
OPDS unit connector D (8P) and body ground.
There should be 0.5 V or less.

Is the voltage as specified?
Y E S - F a u l t y OPDS unit; replace t h e OPDS unit (see
page 23-300).
N O - G o t o step 16.
16. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
17. Disconnect gauge assembly connector B (22P) f r o m
the gauge assembly.
18. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
19. Check f o r voltage between the No. 3 terminal of
OPDS unit connector D <8P) and body ground.
There should be 0.5 V or less.

Y E S — S h o r t to power in the gauge assembly;
replace the gauge assembly. •
