DTC Troubleshooting - '00 Model
11. Disconnect S R S unit connector A (18P) from the
S R S unit.

12. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
13. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
14. Check for voltage between the No. 6 terminal of
S R S unit connector A (18P) and body ground,
between the No. 15 terminal and body ground,
between the No. 5 terminal and body ground, and
between the No. 14 terminal and body ground.
There should be 0.5 V or less.
SRS U N I T C O N N E C T O R A (18P)
Is the voltage as
specified?
Y E S - F a u l t y S R S unit; replace the S R S unit (see
page 23-296). •
NO —Short to power in the S R S main harness;
replace the S R S main harness. •

DTC 2-5: Short to ground in passenger's
airbag inflator
1. Erase the DTC memory (see page 23-45).
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II),and check that the
S R S indicator light comes on for about 6 seconds
and then goes off.
Does the SRS indicator
light stay on?
Y E S - G o t o step 3.
NO —Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.
Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures (see
page 23-45).
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the
battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.
4. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag 4P
connector from the S R S main harness 4P
connector (A).
5. Connect the special tool (2 Q connectors) to the
S R S main harness 2P connector.
