Control Unit Input Test
SRS c o m p o n e n t s are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures in the
SRS section before p e r f o r m i n g repairs or service (see page 23-28).
1. Disconnect the multiplex control unit 22P connector driver's, then remove the multiplex control unit (driver's)
f r o m the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
2. Inspect the connectors and connector terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
• If the t e r m i n a l s are bent, loose, or corroded, repair t h e m as necessary, and recheckthe system.
• If the t e r m i n a l s look OK, go to step 3.
NOTE: If the shift lock solenoid clicks w h e n the ignition switch is turned ON (II) w h i l e depressing the brake pedal
w i t h the shift lever in LB position, the shift lock system is OK. If the shift lever cannot be shifted f r o m O B position,
test the t r a n s m i s s i o n range switch.
3. W i t h the driver's unit still disconnected f r o m its connector and the fuse/relay box, make these input test at its
connector or its fuse/relay box socket.
• If a test indicates a p r o b l e m , find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
• If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 4.
