DHCP Configuration

13-2
To make this router a DHCP server, the dhcp-enable parameter
must be set to yes in the system# object.
Move into the dhcp# object by using the following config:
[co] dh
where co moves the BCC into config mode (if required) and dh is
the MTD for the dhcp# object.
At the dhcp# object prompt it is possible to create DHCP entries.
The entries contain the configuration that DHCP can pass to
clients. Using the ls -l command at the dhcp# object prompt lists
all the DHCP entries set up on the router:
dhcp# ls -l
entry/auto/198.200.200.10/24
entry/dynamic/198.200.100.10/24
entry/manual/198.200.10.10/24
dhcp#
Figure 13-1.
To create or modify an entry use the following syntax:
[co] dh [new|mod] en alloctype/ipaddr/masklen
where co moves the BCC into config mode (if required), dh takes
you to the dhcp# object, new and mod are the new and modify
verbs, en takes the BCC to the DHCP entry# prompt, alloctype
(page
13-3) is the type of dhcp entry, ipaddr is the first IP address
in the pool and masklen is the subnet mask applied to the IP
address.
Creating or modifying a DHCP entry moves you into the entry#
object. Typing i at the entry# object prompt lists all the
parameters for the entry.
