A Nautica router performs actions and commands whenever you
issue it with instructions, or an automatic process takes place.
Using debug facilities, a network administrator can see exactly
what actions the router is performing at any given time. This is
known as tracing.
Nautica routers support a trace facility, and the debug object
(debug#) is where the trace levels are set up. Trace or debug levels
tell the router how much information to display in the trace
window when router operations are being monitored.
There are four trace levels: 0 to 3. If a parameter is set to 0 it does
not report any information in the trace window. A value of 1
means the router reports minimal information to the trace
window, while a value of 3 reports maximum information.
Figure 17-1 shows a failed call in the trace window. In this
instance the isdndb parameter in the debug# object has been set
to 0 (off).
