Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) allows
configuration information like IP addresses to be stored on a
central DHCP server. This information can then be passed to a
client on receipt of a request.
Using DHCP allows remote users to be assigned IP addresses and
other configuration information as and when they need to obtain
information. In this way limited IP addresses can be controlled
and allocated in a more logical manner.
This section deals with how to set up a DHCP server. For more
general information on DHCP, refer to the Concepts section of the
Help file.
