    Chapter 1 Security Authentication The Remote Annex software has third-party security authentication tools available from Security Dynamics (SecurID) and RADIUS. Refer to the following sections if you plan to use security authentication software on the server. However, the default setting for the allow_snmp_sets parameter does not permit parameter value changes because the SNMP set command’s header transmits the community string in clear text, which may be a security risk.

    Click on OK. After it closes the dialog box, Quick2Config Annex establishes an SNMP link to the Annex, determines the Annex model type and reads the currently set Annex parameters. Quick2Config Annex adds an icon for the Annex to the tree view and identifies the unit by name and model number (Figure Figure 3-2.

When the channel is set to the default 0.0.0.0, the Remote IP address is determined by the dial-in client.

A dial-in client that is set to allow the Annex to assign its IP address will be assigned the IP address entered here. Click on Apply.     Chapter 3 Configuration Examples To edit the Session Parameter Blocks: Choose Configure > Edit the Configuration File. Quick2Config opens an editor for you to check and modify the Annex configuration file on your load host. The Session Parameter Blocks are in the section labelled %pri. The default Annex configuration serves as a good template for defining Session Parameter Blocks.

When a client dials in using the number, channel is set to PPP mode and the bearer capability is set to data. To edit the file: Enter the actual number to be used for Sync PPP calls.
