Displaying System Parameters

5-2
Move into the system class object for your router by typing sy at
any config prompt (co sy from the bcc> prompt):
box# sy
system#
Typing
(the MTD for the info verb) in the system# object lists all
i
the system parameters and their current values. Not all of the
parameters can be displayed on the screen at once and you should
see the following message at the bottom of the screen:
Type: <space> to page; <return> advance 1 line; Q
to quit
Follow the options on this line to display the rest of the system#
object parameters or to return to the system# prompt.
Many of the system parameters are quite long, and the names of
the parameters must be typed in exactly to amend a system#
option. To save you having to remember the names of all the
parameters, they have their own MTDs. These MTDs can be used
to change their values. For example, to change the blacklist
timeout without an MTD, the following needs to be typed:
system# blacklist-timeout 10
Using an MTD, the following can be typed:
system# bla 10
When you are familiar with these MTDs, it is possible to use an
MTC to enter an object and change a parameter from any prompt
inside BCC:
bcc> co sy bla 10
[Save] system#
The previous command enters config mode, opens the system#
object and amends the blacklist timeout parameter. This is done
faster than typing the commands out in full:
