Route Types

type: Specifies the type of route on which you are working.
Routes that are created manually are always shown as S (static).
For a list of route types, refer to
ipaddress: The IP address of the remote router.
masklen: The mask length associated with the IP address.
path-name: The path with which this route is associated.
When you create a new route you can only create static and
cul-de-sac routes. These are types S and C (see
router works, however, it learns many routes and these all have
different types.
Table 9-1
shows all the route types. Click on the type letter for a
more detailed explanation.
