Nautica Marlin

Minimum Hardware Requirements

Upgrade Procedure

Appendix B-8
NauticaRS 5.0R uses Nautica Wizard for loading NauticaRS
software directly. Nautica Wizard is a Windows 95 configuration
tool that allows Nautica routers to be configured quickly and
efficiently.
The use of Nautica Wizard avoids the need for users having to
have packet drivers for future upgrades.
In order for your Marlin to inter-operate with Nautica Wizard in
bootmode, it is necessary to load the new bootloader.
All Marlin models can be upgraded except for the older NX-1 and
TB-1 models. The NX-1 and TB-1 have a 10BASE-2 Ethernet
interface instead of the 10BASE-T Ethernet interface of later
models. Do not upgrade the new Marlin loader into units with a
10BASE-2 Ethernet interface.
Note:
Packet drivers are not supplied on the CD. You can
obtain packet drivers either from the manufacturer of your
Ethernet card or from various public domain resources on the
Internet.
1.
Install the packet driver
It is possible to install the packet driver either through DOS
or Windows 95.
DOS Packet Driver: If you have a PC with an Ethernet
card, and a DOS packet driver for that card, this is likely
to be the simplest upgrade route.
If your packet driver has an option to configure the
interrupt, use interrupt 0x66, this is the default interrupt
used by the upgrade tools.
