IP Routes

9-4
Paths tell the router what actions it needs to perform; routes tell
the router how to reach a remote site. By default there is at least
one route on a router and this points to the local LAN. As routes
are added or learned, the Routes table increases.
To display the routes on your router, use the ls -l command at the
ip# object:
ip# ls -l
ospf
route/P/198.200.1.0/24/LAN01
At the ip# object prompt, the ls -l command lists routes and
filters.
To edit an existing route, use the following syntax:
[co] [ip] [mod | new | del] route type/ipaddress/masklen/
path-name
co: If the router is not already in config mode (the prompt ends in
a #), this command enters config mode. If you are already in
config mode there is no need to type this command.
ip: Moves the BCC to the ip# object. If you are already at the ip#
object prompt, there is no need to enter this command.
mod | new | del: A verb that is associated with the route. mod is
the modify verb and allows you to edit an existing route,
the new verb and creates a new static route, del is the delete verb
and must be used if you want to delete a route. mod and new are
optional verbs.
Note:
It is not possible to delete the route that points to LAN01.
route: Moves BCC to the ip route object.
