BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION
NOTE:
Position the motorcycle straight up when
inspecting the fluid level.
1.Place the motorcycle on a level surface.
NOTE:
Place the motorcycle on its centerstand if a
centerstand is equipped. If not, place a suit-
able stand under the motorcycle.
2.Inspect:
Fluid level
Fluid level is under "LOWER" level line 1
→ Fill to proper level.

NOTE:
When inspecting the fluid level of the reser-
voir at the handlebars, make sure the mas-
ter cylinder top is horizontal.
CAUTION:
The fluid may corrode painted surfaces of
plastic parts. Always clean up spilled fluid
immediately.
WARNING
Use only the designated quality fluid.
Otherwise, the rubber seals may deterio-
rate causing leakage and poor brake per-
formance.
Refill with the same type of fluid. Mixing
fluids may result in a harmful chemical
reaction leading to poor brake perfor-
mance.
Be careful that water does not enter the
master cylinder when refilling. Water will
significantly lower the boiling point of the
fluid and may result in vapor lock.
