INSPECTION AND REPAIR
NOTE:
Measure the cylinder bore "C" in parallel to
and at right angles to the crankshaft.
Then, find the average of the measure-
ments.
Cylinder bore "C":
72.970 ~ 73.020 mm
(2.873 ~ 2.875 in)
<Limit: 73.1 mm (2.878 in)
C = (X + Y)/2
If out of specification, rebore or replace
the cylinder, and replace the piston and
piston rings as a set.
2nd steps:
Measure the piston skirt diameter "P"
with a micrometer.
b 4.0 mm (0.16 in) from the piston bottom edge
Piston skirt diameter "P":
72.920 ~ 72.970 mm
(2.871 ~ 2.873 in)
If out of specification, replace the piston
and piston rings as a set.
3rd steps:
Find the piston-to-cylinder clearance with
following formula.
Piston-to-cylinder clearance =
Cylinder bore "C" –
Piston skirt diameter "P"
Piston-to-cylinder clearance:
0.040 ~ 0.060 mm
(0.0016 ~ 0.0024 in)
<Limit: 0.1 mm (0.004 in)>
If out of specification, rebore or replace
the cylinder, and replace the piston and
piston rings as a set.
