NOTE:
Thickness of each pad is marked on the pad
face that contacts the valve lifter (not the
cam).
Round off the hundredths digit of the orig-
inal pad number to the nearest 0.05 mm
increment.

EXAMPLE:
Original pad number = 178 (1.78 mm)
Rounded off digit = 180
NOTE:
Pads can only be selected in 0.05 mm
(0.002 in) increments.
Locate the previously installed pad num-
ber on the chart. Locate the measured
valve clearance on the chart. The point
where these coordinates intersect is the
new pad number.
Install the new pad 1 and valve lifter 2.
Recheck the valve clearance and adjust it
if necessary.
NOTE:
Apply molybdenum disulfide grease to
the pad.
Use your finger to rotate the valve lifter
smoothly.
